It’s no secret that we love the east coast of Florida. A short 3-hour drive transports us from the Tampa Bay area to a whole new world. Jensen Beach, Florida, is home to Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa and it’s well worth the visit. Located close to Jupiter, Florida, and Stuart, Florida, you couldn’t ask for a better location to explore. But if you’d rather do less exploring and more relaxing, Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa is a destination in itself.
Why We Chose Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa
Back in May, we randomly took a weekend trip to the Fort Pierce, Florida, area, which you can read more about here. One morning, we set off in search of non-chain coffee (the coffee shops in Fort Pierce were closed the morning we were there) and decided to take the scenic view along the coast.
We drove the coast until we hit Jensen Beach, Florida, and we couldn’t believe how quiet the beaches were, how quaint the towns were, and how isolated we felt (in a good way). What I’m really saying is that we fell in love. We got coffee at the BunkHouse and brought it with us to the beach where we talked about how much we loved it there pretty much the entire time.
Given that Jensen Beach isn’t very big, accommodation options are somewhat limited. But I searched and found Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa and immediately put it on my bucket list to come back to. And that’s how we got here!
Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa is less than two hours from both Miami and Orlando. It feels tucked away, which was even our experience on a holiday weekend. You can expect quieter beaches and more relaxation.

Things to do at the Resort
There is a lot to explore in the nearby areas because as I mentioned, both Stuart, Florida, and Jupiter, Florida, are close by. I feel these amazing towns deserve their own post, so those guides will be coming! You can also check out my YouTube playlist from our trip to the Treasure Coast, which will give you an overview of all of our activities during our stay. Today’s post is all about Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa because it deserves it’s own post, too!
You truly do not need to leave this resort in order to enjoy yourself. Here is a run down of all there is to do at the resort:
Check out the Beach
Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa is located right on the beach! All you have to do to enjoy the sun, sand, and water is walk out of your room! Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa has cabanas and chairs available for rent if you want to skip the hassle (plus the chairs are very comfortable!) or you can bring your own beach gear.

Spend Time at the Pool
Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa offers two different pools. One has an ocean view and is right outside of the on-site restaurant, Drift. There is a cute cocktail spot on one end of the pool. I’m sure that this can change based on who is visiting the resort, but when we were there, this pool was much quieter and we never saw kids at this pool. Which makes sense – you wouldn’t want to be doing cannonballs a few feet from where people are trying to eat their breakfast! Ha!
The other pool was bigger and also had a hot tub in the area. This pool had dune views. It also had its own covered pool bar and lounge area. Coming here in the morning while the rest of the resort was waking up was our favorite. We got nearly the entire space to ourselves in the morning and it was so relaxing. We got drinks here one day while we laid out and several people around us also ordered food. I meant it when I said that you do not have to leave this resort!

Restaurants and Bars at Hutchinson Island Resort and Spa
The resort’s on site restaurant, Drift, makes it easy to stay on the resort’s property without having to leave. You’ll have a gorgeous pool view from the restaurant and at night, it was all lit up which made it a beautiful site from the beach. Their menu looked incredible and though we did not eat there for a full meal, we enjoyed a round of drinks and some calamari which were incredible! They also have room service and I can’t imagine a much better place to take advantage of room service than when you have a front-row seat to the beautiful Atlantic ocean.
There are bars located at each pool so if you are enjoying a day in the sun, you don’t have to wander far. As I mentioned earlier, you can also rent cabanas. These cabanas do come with an attendant who will get drinks for you if you’d rather enjoy the beach than the pool.

Visit the Spa
Unfortunately, the spa was closed when we visited, but I have heard nothing but good things. We also peeked in the windows and walked through the spa area and it looked like it would be so relaxing!
Events
We were not visiting for an event, but there was a wedding while we were there. It was stunning and such a wonderful place to get married! You can also rent conference rooms, though I don’t know how much I’d be able to focus in such a beautiful resort!
Know Before You Go
Finally, I have a few last things that might be helpful before you go. There is a daily fee in addition to your room. At the time of this writing, it is $34 and this includes valet parking for one vehicle. There were a few days at the resort that we left two or three times and on those days, we didn’t want to have to valet every time so we parked at the public access beach parking which is located right next door.
Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa allows dogs under 30 pounds for an additional fee per dog per night. They are not allowed to be left alone in the room.
We had a great weekend getaway here and we will definitely be back. Everyone was so friendly from the front desk clerk to the valet. If you end up staying, let me know how you liked it!
