We are parents of two under two. Actually, we were two under one for a while because our kids are only 11 months apart. So we desperately needed a double stroller that would travel well on our trip to Hawaii (and for the many trips to new places that will follow).

We knew that with both kids being so young that we really needed a double stroller. It wouldn’t work for us to have one kid walk and switch off who rides in stroller. We personally purchased the Zoe Twin Double V2 Stroller with our own money. It is currently their newest double stroller model.

I know that double strollers are an investment. I’m going to review our experience to help you decide whether the Zoe Double Stroller is worth purchasing for your family. This review dives into pros and cons of the Zoe Double Stroller (specifically the Twin V2) so you can determine whether it’s the right fit for your family.

My Opinion on the Zoe Twin V2

Let’s jump into what I think about the Zoe Twin V2. If you’re looking at another one of the Zoe strollers, this article will probably still be helpful to you because I’ll go into some of the differences between Zoe strollers below.

In short, we love this stroller and I think parents of twins or kids close in age will love it, too.

I also love that if we decide to have more kids, we can add one or two seats, making it fit 3 or 4 kids total. The seats hold up to 45 pounds so our kids can sit in it for quite a while. It’s very lightweight, easy to fold down, and easy to maneuver.

We’ve always been able to fit into the doorways as long as we don’t have the cup attachment on the side of the stroller. We use the parent organizer attachment that sits on the handlebars to hold our drinks instead, but I’ll go into more detail on that later.

The only thing I really don’t like is that it’s hard to fit into the backpack travel carrier. I think if it was one adult alone in a calm space, it wouldn’t be a big deal but we are trying to put the stroller into the travel carrier while also trying to manage 2 young kids and all of our luggage in the airport while simultaneously trying to board the plane.

If our kids were older, we could fold down the stroller earlier (before we are trying to board the plane) and it would probably be easier, but we really need the stroller up until the last possible minute while we are in the airport.

Pros

• It’s a very lightweight stroller – V1 is 21 pounds, V2 is 23 pounds
• Collapses very easily
• Makes a great stroller for Disney and meets all of Disney’s specifications
• It’s a great travel stroller but I know a lot of people who love it so much that they use it as their daily stroller (myself included)
• You can turn it into a 3-seater (Trio+) or 4-seater (Tribe+) if you have more than 2 kids needing the stroller
• Getting the kids in and out of the stroller is easy
• The canopy/cover covers the kids while in the stroller so well that when it was raining, we didn’t even need the rain cover to keep the kids dry
• It maneuvers very well – I always tell my husband that I could push it with my pinky!
• There is a lot of storage underneath, which is something difficult to find in travel strollers. We always store a diaper bag, a cooler, and still have plenty of room for more.
• Each seat holds up to 45 pounds so it’s great for infants and toddlers, making it a long-term investment
• The seats are actually comfortable for our kids
• The seat reclines easily which is great for naps. My kids usually fall asleep with the seat up while they are looking around:

Cons

• The parent cup that comes with Zoe stroller sticks out the side. This makes the stroller unable to fit through a lot of doorways. This is pretty annoying since the whole purpose of buying the Zoe stroller is to be able to do so. We did purchase the organizer eventually but when we first bought the stroller, they were sold out for several months. We happened to be in Key West a lot of that time and their doorways are pretty narrow so we either had nowhere to put our drinks or to had to take off the drink holder anytime we wanted to go through a door. More than likely, the organizer will be in stock though, so hopefully this isn’t a big deal for you.
• If you want to use it before your baby is 3 months old, you’ll need to buy a newborn car seat adapter.
• It isn’t the best stroller on uneven terrain such as trails or cobblestone roads but you can purchase all-terrain wheels. If you’re just going to be taking the stroller on flat surfaces, you’ll be fine.
• If you’re keeping items in the storage basket, you’ll want to be careful that you’re not exceeding the 10 pound weight limit.

Also worth noting is that the tandem can convert to a single stroller (the front seat is detachable) and The Twin has attachments to make it a triple or quad with an add on seat(s). I really love how the stroller can adapt to meet your needs.

Zoe strollers also come in single seat options if you only need a stroller for one kid. A huge benefit to that is that they fold up small enough to fit in the overhead storage bin on the plane. This is such a convenient factor that some parents might choose to purchase two individual strollers instead of a double.

Thoughts and Notes on Tandem vs Side-by-Side

This is going to be long winded because I have very strong feelings about this. But stick with me if you’re trying to decide between the two. If you’re not trying to decide, you might want to scroll to the next section.

The Zoe twin stroller has both a tandem and side-by-side stroller option. Even though tandem strollers has benefits for fitting in smaller spaces, I knew I wanted the side by side.

We were using the BOB Duallie for our day to day stroller. If you’re not familiar with double BOB strollers, let me just tell you they are huge. I love it and it’s been one of my favorite baby items, but it’s a commitment. We live at the beach in Florida, so we really needed it for our beach walks, but it is not convenient to load in and out of the car. It is very sturdy but that also makes it heavy.

Living in Florida, we are often traveling to places that are very crowded – places that were uncomfortable walking through with even a single stroller. We had primarily purchased the BOB because we knew it was the only option for our beach walks (if you’re new here, we live at the beach) but we didn’t necessarily want to lug it around for our day-to-day outside of the beach. So we got the Graco Ready2Grow to use as our daily stroller. We thought it would be the most convenient for smaller or more crowded spaces since it’s more narrow.

I hated that stroller.

Our experience with the tandem stroller was that it takes very wide turns and it takes longer to stop (I always tell my husband, “trying to stop this thing is like braking in a semi!”)

If you’ve ever been anywhere with a stroller, you might know that at times, people don’t seem to notice you at all. They cut you off, rush to get past you, and all sorts of other inconvenient things. Navigating crowds can be hard, but then factor in being unable to stop quickly or having to take wide turns. It just makes getting through crowds that much harder.

So – do with that information what you will. The Graco Ready2Grow has excellent reviews on Amazon so perhaps I am in the minority with this opinion. In all fairness, it’s also not meant to be a travel stroller and I think it would be fine in a non-crowded area. But it turned me off to the idea of a tandem double stroller. We love our side-by-side so much more and find it so much easier to navigate.

The last thing I’ll mention about the tandem stroller is that if you get Zoe’s tandem stroller, it can adapt to a single stroller. So if your kids are a little further apart in age than mine and you really need a double stroller now but won’t for very long, that might be a consideration for you. Zoe’s single stroller does fit into the overhead compartment in airplanes and this is a huge plus for me.

Overview and Features of the Zoe V2 Double Stroller

When you purchase the Zoe V2 Double Stroller, it comes with these accessories:

• Parent cup holder
• Double belly bar
• 2 Child cup holders
• Snack holder
• Harness shoulder pads on the shoulder straps
• Storage basket

I talk more about this in the con section below, but the parent cup is pretty annoying because it sticks out so you can’t go through a standard doorway when they are attached.

There are several Zoe accessories available for an additional purchase as well. I put a star (*) next to my must-haves:

• Double snack tray*
• Stroller organizer*
• Car seat adapter (if you have an infant still in their infant seat)
• Storage bag backpack* (this was a must have for me, though others have purchased non-Zoe stroller travel bags and said they were fine. I like using the brand’s storage items because I feel like they are more invested in their products staying in the best condition possible)
• All-terrain wheels
• Washable seat liner
• Stroller rain cover

The Zoe double stroller is an investment and these additional accessories can add up quickly. The Zoe accessories aren’t exactly cheap, either, so here a couple of alternatives for you that are a little more cost-effective:

This snack pod can just clip onto the handlebars. You can use this instead of the snack tray. It is a much more budget-friendly option.

We don’t bother with stroller rain covers, but this is a less expensive option if you want one. We actually find that the cover of the Zoe stroller comes down so far that when we have been stuck in the rain, only our toddler’s feet got wet.

Which accessories are worth it?

The Zoe Snack Tray. This might not be necessary if your kids are older and can hold their own food/drinks. When we first got the Zoe, our kids were 6 months and 17 months old so the snack tray was a must.

The Parent Organizer. The parent’s cup comes clips onto the side of the stroller, which makes the stroller too side for some doorways so we almost never use it. Instead, we use the parent organizer. It has a lot of storage, zippered pockets, and two cup holders and you can still fit through standard doorways with it. It gives easy access to your things, which is really convenient.

The Zoe Double Stroller is known for its lightweight design and ease of use. Here’s a snapshot of its key specifications:

The Twin V1 is just a little different, it weighs a little bit less (2 pounds) and has slightly smaller dimensions.

Zoe Double Stroller Features:

Lightweight Design

• Large, expandable canopies provide sun protection. We also found it to be such good coverage that it kept our kids dry when we got caught in the rain.

Storage and Accessories

• Comes with a generous storage basket underneath – this genuinely holds everything we have ever needed it to, which is so convenient. A lot of the travel strollers we looked at, both double and single, didn’t have much storage. The weight limit on the storage basket is 10 pounds.
• Includes cup holders and snack trays but the cup holders that come with the stroller are not convenient for younger kids/babies, in my opinion. We purchased the add on snack trays that clips on (they replace the handlebars that come standard). I don’t think that this would be as big of a deal with older kids.
• Optional accessories like a parent organizer and travel bag are available.

Adjustable Features

• Independent recline for each seat, allowing for customized comfort for each child.
• Adjustable footrests to support your children’s legs.

Folding the Zoe Double Stroller

Ease of folding the stroller was the most important thing to me after the weight and width of the stroller. Because of our kids’ ages, it’s most convenient to keep them in their stroller until the very last minute we’re trying to board a plane. Boarding the plane with two young kids can be hectic and we don’t want to be trying to wrangle two kids plus trying to mess with a stroller that won’t break down.

This stroller breaks down very easily. You’ll want to recline the seats first, then you just pull the little handlebars in the seats. The stroller will even stand up on its own after it’s folded, which is nice.

I will say that while it folds easily, it takes a bit more wrangling than I’d like getting it into the Zoe storage bag backpack.

Cleaning the Zoe Double Stroller

To clean it, you can hand wash the stroller with a damp sponge. You’ll want to avoid using harsh chemicals but if you have more stubborn spots (I’m looking at you, peanut butter kid hands!), you can dilute a mild detergent, apply it directly, then wipe out the detergent. You’ll want to make sure you let it air dry before you fold the stroller up.

If you really like to keep your stroller in perfect condition, I recommend purchasing their washable seat liners. They are easy to put on the stroller and are machine washable.

Zoe’s Return Policy

Zoe offers free returns within 30 days of purchase. So if you aren’t happy with your stroller purchase, you can return it. You’ll mail it back to the company with a prepaid shipping label. The condition of the stroller still needs to be like new, so make sure you’re not taking it outside until you get a good feel it.

There are also a few other considerations, so you may want to check out Zoe’s full refund policy before purchasing if you’re worried about it.

In full disclosure, I have loved my Zoe products so I have never gone through the returns approval process. I have had to contact customer service, though, and they are lovely. Zoe is known for their good customer support.
